Today 3 April 2026, Indian government has passed new law called Jan Vishwas Bill, the main aim is to make Indian citizens life and businesses easier. Prime minister Narendra Modi said it will improve for doing business and it will be easier for living in the country. Indian government is also focusing on build people trust and not on punishment.

Important feature & Changes in Law

  • Decriminalisation (very important point): Small/minor offences will no longer be treated as crimes and Instead of jail, people may just pay a fine
  • 79 laws (Central Acts) will be updated
  • 784 rules/provisions will be changed
  • 717 will no longer be criminal offences ( like for small mistake people wont’s go to jail, they just have to pay fine or pay simple penalty, this make easier and safe to run businesses. 
  • 67 will help improve daily life
